Indian film industry has earned is name worldwide and the credit goes to not only the directors or the script writers but the actors and actresses as well. The industry comprises of Bollywood and many other regional variations based on different languages. Bollywood actresses are famous for their beauty and talent. Many of them have a modeling background and some have even earned their name in the beauty pageants held at international level. Many of the bollywood actresses have been Miss World and Miss Universe and are given recognition worldwide. Some of them have worked with foreign movie makers as well. Not only are they critically acclaimed they are popular among the masses as well. Mallika Sherawat and Aishwarya Rai have recently worked with international movie makers.
The actresses often endorse international beauty-product brands and look no less than their European female counterparts. In fact bollywood actresses are considered to be the perfect blend of natural beuty and innate acting skills. Sonam Kapoor is the latest face for an international brand which Aishwarya Rai still endorses.
One can also spot them at international film festivals and other major celebrity events held worldwide. They are capable of commanding both recognition and acclaim for their achievements in the cinematic world. The entire buzz and glamour quotient also comes from them and they make the Indian audience really proud of their achievements.
I don’t want to read about some of these actresses who are around today. They sound like my niece in Scarsdale. I love my niece in Scarsdale, but I won’t buy tickets to see her act.

Madam Tussaud's museum in London has recognized the popularity of the Indian actress as well. They have carved a place for themselves along with their male counterparts and cricket players; the first being Aishwarya Rai.
It's not just this glitz which drives the bollywood actress. What is also appreciable is their sensitivity towards social issues as well. Sushmita Sen has herself adopted two girls in her support for the cause of the girl child and is bringing them up as a single mother. They are involved with a lot of charitable organizations as well which support the cause of the poor, socially backward women, the girl child and those engaged in prevention of various fatal diseases. It is heartening to see that the bollywood actresses don't just act as trophies to be displayed but are driven by humanitarian feelings as well.
