You too can be a great producer using a video Podcast. All you need is some creativity and some tools. Find that niche audience and go the computer. You will then be able to make videos just for fun, to promote your website or business, or just about anything else you can think of that people will be inclined to watch. Once a person has downloaded your video Podcast feed once they will never have to again and automatically be sent any other video Podcast you do. Now that is convenient marketing and exposure. Make sure that you have a digital video camera in your access and a computer to manipulate and upload the file to. This is really all you truly need. It will help if you are at least familiar with iPod and how iPod works. You would also know more of what you were doing if you owned one, but it is not necessary. Here are some tips to get you started on your video Podcast.
Tip 1: Making Your Footage
You will want to use the video media files available on your computer to create your video Podcast. If your camcorder is analog you will first have convert the footage to be able to utilize it. That is what a digital video camera is best. One of the biggest things to remember when making your video Podcast is that the iPod screen is little. You do not want to make this as if you were taping a home video for your television. Shoot footage close up. You do not need small detail or wide angles. They are useless and your video will not be able to be seen well. Shoot your video in a standard mode instead to make ensure it will look good on the iPod screen. When making a title or text you will want to think of exactly how important this is. You can always add these to your video Podcast description. Not to mention your title will be your video Podcast's name. If you truly feel the need to add it in don't use iMovie's titling options. They are way too small to see on the screen of the iPod. Try using other programs that are either free or paid for to get better sizing options. You will also want to limit the length of your video Podcast. It will be better to break up what you want into 5 to 10 minute individual videos than to make a one to two hour video. Most viewers do not have the time to sit and watch that much at one time. Most iPods also do not have the batter capacity or bandwidth it would take. Remember once people view it once they get all your sequels automatically. This will allow the viewer to watch in short segments at their convenience.

Computers were originally just supposed to be number-crunchers, but now their number-crunching has been harnessed in a thousand imaginative ways to create new virtual machines, such as video games and word processors, in which the underlying number-crunching is almost invisible, and in which new powers seem quite magical. Our brains, similarly, werent designed (except for some very recent peripheral organs)These people figured video was the Lords preferred means of communicating, the screen itself a kind of perpetually burning bush. Hes in the de-tails, Sublett had said once. You gotta watch for Him close.

Tip 2: Compressing Your Video Podcast File
Before you can put your video Podcast online to be viewed you will need to optimize it for the iPod's specific screen dimensions. You can use the latest version iMovie HD to export and compress your video file. This will make exporting a breeze. Just upload your video file and then go into Export. You will click the iPod tab and hit the Share button. The iMovie program will convert the file for you and place it right in your iTunes library. If for some reason you are running an older version of iMovie then you will want to follow there instructions. You will be creating a custom present for exporting the file. Go into File and click on Share. Hit the Quick Time feature, choose Compress Movie For, and click on Expert Settings. Click on the Share button. You will see a box that says Save Exported File As and choose Options. Click on Choose Custom Size, fill in the width and height to 320 and 240, and hit Save. This will make your video Podcast iPod compatible. If you do not own any version of iMovie HD you can use other types of software to get the same effect. Most are available at store or as downloads online for between $10 and $30. Be sure it can covert to iPod compatible formatting prior to purchasing.
